What we store ourselves

• Product data (title, image, Amazon link) that we retrieve from Amazon. We keep this for at most 24 hours and then refresh it. Prices and availability are kept for at most 60 minutes.
• A counter per product for how often a product page has been requested. This contains no IP addresses, cookies or other data that can be traced back to you.
• Technical logs of our own data connections, without visitor data.

Requests your browser makes

• Amazon: product images are loaded directly from Amazon's servers. Amazon then sees your IP address and browser data. If you click through to Amazon, Amazon's privacy policy applies from that point on.
• Hosting platform: our hosting provider adds its own script to the published site (/~flock.js) that sends basic visit statistics to the hosting environment. We do not place this script ourselves and do not use the data for advertising or profiling.

Cookies

bezprice does not place any tracking or advertising cookies itself. We only store your language choice in a functional cookie (bp_lang), so you get the same language on your next visit; that cookie contains only the language code and no personal data. Amazon may set its own cookies when you click through, among other things to link a purchase to our affiliate tag.

We also measure a few coarse visit statistics ourselves. This happens entirely without cookies and without any browser storage (no cookie, no localStorage, no sessionStorage): there is no session or visitor ID, so there is no recognition across pages, visits or days. We measure aggregated events: page view (page type, language, device class, coarse source such as direct/search/social), product view (ASIN and category only), search and zero results (the search text is kept only if it passes a strict privacy filter, otherwise only the counter), guide view, language change and click-through to Amazon (ASIN, Amazon country, language, placement). We store no IP address, no raw browser data (user agent) and no full referring URLs, and we build no visitor profiles: the numbers are events, not unique people. Raw events are kept for at most 30 days; after that only aggregated daily totals remain. Those fully anonymous daily totals (date, event type, page type, ASIN, category, marketplace, language, device class, coarse source) contain no visitor or session data and have no retention limit: we keep them as long as they are needed for business trends. Search terms are only kept in aggregate when they pass the privacy filter and occur often enough; rare terms are grouped under 'other'. Amazon links are direct affiliate links: once you click through, Amazon's own privacy and cookie policy applies. Functional and separate from this: the bp_lang language cookie and the sign-in protection of our admin environment.

Strictly necessary security cookie: only when you start a search or price refresh that requires extra abuse protection do we set the cookie __Host-bp_sid. It is used solely for abuse-prevention and security purposes (such as countering automated or repeated requests), is set as HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Strict, expires after at most 12 hours and is not used for advertising or analytics.
