What bezprice compares, and what it doesn't

• Yes: the item price including VAT as we retrieved it per store, with a timestamp.
• No: shipping costs, surcharges or the final total price.
• No: price history or forecasts.

So the order on a comparison page is a ranking by item price, not a final verdict on the cheapest order.

What do shipping costs depend on?

• The delivery address: domestic shipping is different from shipping to another EU country.
• The seller: Amazon itself or a third-party seller each apply their own terms.
• The product type: weight, dimensions and, for example, batteries can have an effect.
• The order value and the chosen delivery option.

We deliberately don't publish fixed shipping rates. These change per market and per moment; the amounts Amazon shows at your checkout are what counts.

Item price, shipping costs and total price

The difference between item price and total price is the core of this guide. The item price is the price of the product including VAT. The total price is what's at the bottom of the checkout: item price, any shipping costs, the chosen delivery option and any surcharges.

Two stores can swap places once the address is entered. So only judge a comparison once you've seen the amount at checkout for both candidates.

Multiple items or multiple sellers in one order

Order more than one product and it gets less straightforward. An order can arrive as separate shipments when different sellers are involved, and each can apply its own terms.

• Items from different sellers can be shipped separately.
• Delivery times within one order can vary.
• A return is handled per shipment and per seller, not for the order as a whole.
• It's worth checking the total per shipment rather than just looking at the basket.

Why bezprice doesn't promise a total price

We could estimate a total price, but an estimate that misses the mark in practice is worth less to you than a clearly defined figure. Shipping costs depend on your address, the seller, the product and the order value, and Amazon only calculates them at checkout.

That's why we only show the retrieved item price including VAT, together with the time it was retrieved, and explicitly note that shipping isn't included. What you ultimately pay is decided by Amazon.

Checklist before you buy

1. Pick the stores with the lowest retrieved item price on bezprice.
2. Open the product page on Amazon and add the item to your basket.
3. Enter your delivery address and check the calculated shipping costs and delivery time.
4. Compare the total price of the two or three best options with each other.
5. Check the seller, version and return terms before you pay.

Common mistakes when estimating the total price

• Comparing without a delivery address: shipping costs and delivery time aren't calculated, leaving an incomplete picture.
• Only looking at the offer selected by default, while another seller on the same page can have different terms.
• Selecting a faster delivery option and then not including that cost in the comparison.
• Treating a small difference in item price as a certain saving, while return convenience and delivery time also matter.
• Assuming a shipping rate you once saw still applies: rates and thresholds change per market and per moment.

When isn't another store worth it?
